Every personal computer or web server is run by an Operating System - the low-level program which interacts with the hardware, including peripheral devices such as a mouse or a printer, together with any apps that are installed on the system. Any program input through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the Operating System. On a server, any application runs within the parameters specified by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etc. This is valid for both standard website scripts and server-side software such as a media server. When a virtual server is created on a physical one, there can be two different Operating Systems, called guest OS and host OS, so you'll be able to set up a different software environment on a single machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers

If you choose to go for one of our VPS server packages, you shall be able to pick one of the three Linux distributions that we offer for the Operating System of the servers - CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian. These are among the most widely used and most stable server OSs out there and we offer them so that you have a choice for the software environment of your machine if you intend to install some app with particular requirements in terms of the packages that have to be present on the server. We also offer three hosting Control Panels and which one of them you may use will depend on the OS that you have chosen. We leave the option to change the server Operating System open, so if you want to use an app that requires an OS different from the one that's already present, we can always re-install the VPS. In addition, we can keep the OS up-to-date weekly by installing any security updates that may be available.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers

The dedicated servers that we offer can be installed with three different Operating Systems because we want to offer you more flexible solutions which will permit you to install and run any kind of web software whatever its system requirements. The options are CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu and these three OSs are among the most reliable and safe ones, not mentioning that they don't have any kind of license fees. All three have lots of developers who have created numerous software packages that you could install and use on your server. We also offer three internet hosting Control Panels and which one you can use will depend on the Operating System that you choose when you register. If you need a new OS afterwards, it will not be a problem as we can always reinstall your machine. With our Managed Services package we can also keep your OS secure by updating it on a weekly basis with all patches that are available for it.
